Carburetor Service

This is probably the service we perform most out of all the work we do at Gaston Motorcycle Werks. Carburetors do a fantastic job of metering the fuel as it is being delivered to your engine. Unfortunately, today's fuel has Ethanol in it and Ethanol attracts water, causing not only rust in your fuel tank but also causing clogged carburetors. As the water evaporates in your carbs the fuel that is left behind thickens and gums up, eventually turning into a sludge that crystilizes and blocks the tiny passages in the carb bodies and jets. This is the reason your bike will only run with the choke on after it has been in storage for any length of time.
